Sir: The issue of ethnopsychopharmacology has been receivingincreased attention lately. One study showed significant differencesin treatment response in schizophrenia between variouspopulations,¹ but data on the subject are sparse, particularly fornewer antipsychotic drugs. We report on a patient of African descentwho developed intolerable side effects in response to ziprasidone,a recently approved atypical antipsychotic medication.
