All of the strategies reviewed in this supplement warrantparticular attention because they either have a long history of use or have recently become more widelycited in the literature and are used increasingly in clinicalpractice. These strategies to augment inadequate antidepressantresponse include the adjunct use of lithium,thyroid, anxiolytics, pindolol, anticonvulsants, dopamineagonists, stimulants, and supplemental antidepressants.In their articles, the authors conclude that each of thestrategies they reviewed has been shown to enhance theresponse to antidepressant drugs.
