Article Abstract

Because this piece does not have an abstract, we have provided for your benefit the first 3 sentences of the full text.

Sir: Valproic acid concentrate is an immediate-release preparation of valproic acid with rapid absorption following oral administration.1 Divalproex sodium tablets are a delayedrelease formulation comprising valproate sodium and valproic acid in a 1:1 molar relationship.2 Equivalent oral doses of divalproex sodium tablets and valproic acid concentrate deliver equivalent quantities of valproate ion systemically.
