Sir: The generalized form of social anxiety disorder is ahighly prevalent psychiatric condition that causes persistentfunctional impairment.1 Although selective serotonin reuptakeinhibitors (SSRIs) have become the first-line treatment for socialanxiety disorder,2 these drugs do not always give adequatesymptom relief, and side effects like initial increase of anxiety,gastrointestinal complaints, and sexual dysfunction can complicatetheir long-term use.Animal models have shown that atypical antipsychoticsalso possess anxiolytic properties.3-5‘ ‹
