Sir: There are now many studies showing the coexistenceof schizophrenia and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD),¹which often worsens the prognosis for remission of bothillnesses. Likewise, it is well known that electroconvulsivetherapy (ECT) is an effective treatment for schizophrenia patientswho are resistant to antipsychotic drugs, and some studiessuggest the same for OCD.² We report a case of comorbidity ofboth conditions successfully treated with ECT as evaluated bystandardized clinical rating scales.’ ‹
