Article Abstract

From our regular book review column.

The International Society for the Psychological Treatments
of the Schizophrenias and Other Psychoses (ISPS) is a global
society composed of multidisciplinary professionals organized
at national, regional, and local levels. This text is one in a series
produced by the ISPS reflecting the resurging interest in
psychosocial factors and their effects on psychotic disorders.
The idea for the book came out of 2 conferences on making inpatient
wards therapeutic, organized by members of the ISPS in
the United Kingdom. The editors come from 4 mental health
disciplines: nursing (Mark Hardcastle), clinical psychology
(David Kennard), art therapy (Sheila Grandison), and psychiatry
(Leonard Fagin).
