The Guidebook of Sexual Medicine

Article Abstract

From our regular book review column.

The Guidebook of Sexual Medicine is an excellent addition
to the literature on sexual medicine.

Three major advantages of this text are that (1) it was written
by a psychiatrist and clearly written for psychiatrists, (2) it has a
remarkably consistent style of presentation across chapters, and
(3) most, but not all, chapters are arranged to correspond with
diagnostic categories in DSM-IV. The consistency of the text
may relate to the fact that the editor was either an author or coauthor
of 7 of the 10 chapters.
