Selective sereotonin reuptake inhibitiors (SSRIs) have been available for lamost a decade, and in that period they have had a tremendous impact on pharmacotherapy. Anumber of SSRIs currently are available in the UnitedStates, including fluoxetine, paroxetine, and sertraline, andnew ones, such as citalopram, soon will be added to theclinician’s armamentarium. SSRIs have demonstrated abroad range of clinical applications.
