Voluntary treatment with haloperidol decanoate to control psychosis. Haloperidol decanoate 200 mg IM every 4 weeks was moderately effective in diminishing paranoid delusions and anger, allowing Mr. A to progress from maximum to medium security in December 2002. Haloperidol treatment was complicated by marked extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS) that were only partially controlled by benztropine.
