Sir: Psychiatric manifestations of pheochromocytoma—a rare disease in which a tumor causes the adrenal medullato overproduce epinephrine and norepinephrine hormones—are usually limited to anxiety states. We report a patient whopresented with paranoid psychosis as the only manifestationof pheochromocytoma long before pheochromocytoma wasdiagnosed.

Case report. Mr. A, a 35-year-old man, developed psychoticsymptoms of 2 months’ duration in March 1999.’ ‹
