Sir: Drs. Rico-Villademoros and Calandre raise importantconcerns about the limited strength of evidence linking specificantipsychotic medications to sexual dysfunction. We share theseconcerns and join their call for long-term prospective randomizedcontrolled trials that compare the development of sexualdysfunction in patients treated with various antipsychotic medications.Our study describes the prevalence of sexual dysfunctionin schizophrenia and does not seek to establish a causeeffectrelationship with individual antipsychotic medications.’ ‹
