Schizophrenia: Current Science and Clinical Practice

The World Psychiatric Association (WPA) produced an earlier book on schizophrenia some 10 years ago edited by Professors Mario Maj and Norman Sartorius.1 Now Professor Gaebel—who is a leading expert on schizophrenia—has edited this most current text, which will be a valuable source of information for mental health clinicians. The WPA text well reflects advances in both the neuroscience and treatment of schizophrenia. Chapters are well balanced, and I very much appreciate the inclusion of both European and US-generated key publications. This balance is in no small part due to having both US and European contributing authors—some of the best experts in schizophrenia research.

Professor Gaebel and contributing authors are to be congratulated for this outstanding text.
