Sir: Janicak et al. in their recent study have provided clearand excellent evidence in support of the use of transcranialmagnetic stimulation for the treatment of major depressive disorder.The results of the study support the results of a recentstudy by Anderson et al., who showed that transcranial magneticstimulation is more effective than sham treatment for thetreatment of patients with depression. Interestingly, transcranialmagnetic stimulation is increasingly being used for the managementof various neurologic disorders as well as psychiatricdisorders besides depression.’ ‹’ ‹
