The topics of peer review and the transformation of journals impact us all, with implications for scientific advancement and clinical care. This issue’s commentaries are authored by journal editors and provide perspectives important for early career psychiatrists.

The authors of the following commentaries represent The American Journal of Psychiatry, Psychosomatics, Biological Psychiatry, Depression and Anxiety, and The Journal of Clinical Psychiatry.
